It's no doubt that Widgets are the most essential things of the modern world. In basic term Gadgets used to define numerous electronic accessories used to save time and efforts. The Gadgets word is using since the 19th century. Earlier examples of Gadgets are a sailor boy’s log of a voyage out and home in a China tea-clipper.
In technical point a gadget is a technological device that has a particular function, but is often thought of as an innovation. Gadgets are always considered to be more unusually or cleverly designed than normal technological objects at the time of their invention. Gadgets are sometimes also referred to as Widgets. Gadgets belong to a new category of mini-applications especially designed for providing all the necessary information, important lookup and of course, enhance an application or service for the personal or home use.
Categories of Modern Gadgets
The 21st century can be categorized in the below given category -
Mechanical gadgets
In the category clocks, bicycles, and thermometers are amongst the very large number of gadgets that are mechanical and also very popular. The invention of mechanical gadgets though is based more on innovation from the inventor rather than his education.
Electronic gadgets
In Electronic gadgets we can include radio, Digital Camera, TV, Mobile phones and the quartz watch. These gadgets are based on transistors and integrated circuits. Unlike the mechanical gadgets one needs a source of electric power to use it.
Programmable gadgets
In this category we can include most of the 21st century gadgets like - i Pad, i Pod, Robots, Computer etc.
Application gadgets
Computer programs that provide services without needing an independent application to be launched for each one, but instead run in an environment that manages multiple gadgets. There are several implementations based on existing software development techniques, like JavaScript, form input, and various image formats.
